Reflections – What do you see

Reflections – What do you see

What does your reflection look like? And do you care? Is it your image that you see. Is it your actions that you notice. Do you have the ability – to see your own uniqueness and beauty.

About 10 years or so ago, my children were playing travel soccer, I would go to the games and cheer them on. One day however, I went to watch a game where I was not emotionally attached to any player, and noticed how the parents were acting while cheering on their children. It was not a pretty site, and after a moment, a harsh reality hit me –  I look the same way while cheering on my own children and team. In my mind I thought that I was being supportive, encouraging the children to do their best, and overly enthusiastically applauding their successes. It was toooooo much and, It was my first real glimpse into my own internal awareness.

As we move through life we sometimes live in our own head, and we lose the awareness of not only how we are in this world, but of our own true self. How do we really live and interact with those around us. Who are we deep in our core.

So my challenge for you today dear readers, is to start looking within, start paying attention to those automatic reactions, and habits. Start asking yourself why.  Why am I doing what I’m doing.  Do my action serve myself or others – simply – just start noticing.

Love Your Life

During the holiday season you’re either very busy running around with extra parties to attend, presents to buy, and other various additional tasks; or you’re wishing you were socially busier. Holidays seem to amplify how we feel, and deal, with our daily life.  We tend to expect or desire certain outcomes, before we feel we can fully love our life. We forget to just love our life as it is. So, take a moment to Love Your Life, right now, just as it is. Close your eyes with your hands pressing, joining together at your heart center – Anjali mudra – Prayer position, and sit in stillness, for a moment of gratitude and reflection. Honoring yourself. Honoring others. Appreciating all that you have. Letting go of expectations, on any level, on any thing, and focusing your thoughts to that of just pure appreciation.

Do this everyday, and trust me, your world will change.

Triggers to Self Reflection

Sunrise and the day begins. Marking another beautiful and glorious day to live.  The sunrise reminds us of new days and new beginnings, filled with acts of kindness, or service, or of duty.

How do you fill the day? Do you work on auto pilot and just go through the motions. Are you becoming something, or are you being that person. When the sunset makes another marks in your life, that letting you know that another day has past. Do you stop to think or give it any thought… Did I fully live my life today?

Let the sunrise and sunset be triggers in your life to pause in self refection, and may you always and forever, live every day of your life.

Just a thought…
