New Moon Monday

New Moon Monday

So on Monday’s I’ve been going to this cute little tea room to write my blog. I like it here, it feels comfortable, and I’m consciously surrounding myself with people who inspire me, and I feel inspired by the people here that I’m continually getting to know. Today I was having trouble writing my blog. My thoughts were scattered, and I was having trouble writing clear paragraphs. A friend came over and began talking to me, as she was looking at her phone, and said oh it’s New Moon Monday.  I wasn’t even aware that the new moon began today.

But I do know that the New Moon is a great time to plant seeds for transformation. And, this particular new moon is great for grounding, which my writing would be better and smoother if I was more grounded at the moment. So I think if we take a moment here we can all benefit from this new beginning. One of the best ways to take advantage of the new moon is to set an intention for the cycle.

Everything begins with an intention. Like writing this blog. I would not write a blog if I didn’t have an intention to do so at some time.  So Set an intention or sankulpa, – your positive statement, and set it in the present tense, as it’s effects are intensified during this time and we want the best outcome. The new moon, is like new beginnings like the darkness that we feel in some or all areas of our life, and our actions and intention expands as new moons light expands gradually becoming the brilliantly bright full moon, as we become the brilliantly bright improve being.

Here are a few examples of intentions set in the present tense.  Use one of these or create one that truly resonates with you. It can be as long or as short as you would like, then begin to feel your life transform. Noting however that its best that these intentions reflect what we truly value and whats authentic to us. Like today mine may or should be.

I am a great writer, I speak my truth, and leave a positive imprint on the world, or, Regardless of how great or poor of a writer that I am, I speak my truth, and leave a positive imprint on the world.

For you –

I live a life of value.

I flow though life with ease and grace.

I authentically live with a knowing of my inner truth.

I live in peace in mind and body.

I am happy.

I am whole.

Once you create your statement. Sit with it for a moment or two. Breathe it in. Breathe it out. Allow it to become a part of you. Allow it to permeate every cell in your body.

Then as the days go and the moon light grows, feel and believe this statement is more and more true. Detach from the outcome, release and let go. Let me know if it works for you!

Feeling Good – Setting Your Intention

Birds in the sky

Birds flying high you know how I feel. Sun in the sky you know how I feel. Breeze driftin on by, you know how I feel. It’s a new dawn. It’s a new day… And, I’m feeling good. -Lyrics for Feeling Good by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley

When I teach my Yoga classes, I ask all my students to set their intention or their Sankulpa, before we begin our practice. A sankulpa is a statement formed from within our connection to our higher self.  It’s a statement to be honored above all, because it guides us towards our higher purpose, our best self, and helps to guide our choices on our path. But it’s more than just a statement – it’s multidimensional.

Your sankulpa could start simply with the intention,  I want to quit smoking.  But, your sankulpa, created as a positive statement in the present tense could be I’m so grateful that I’m smoke free. The statement requires no resolve or will power but a becoming or a knowing of who you really are, and evolving to the true sankulpa of –I am healthy, I am whole. It’s a realization that you already are it, a believing. And, so for awhile we walk side by side with this knowing of becoming, and being, at the same time. The longer we can remain in this state of oneness, the faster we are able to become one with our statement.  One way I find that really helps is to think of your statement with gratitude. Go ahead and think of it…, now, think of it with gratitude that it’s already true! -… powerful right?

So we continue walking on this path side by side, mindfully aware of our sankulpa, and mindfully at every opportunity acting inline with these goals. As we move forward we remain at peace, content, and forgiving when necessary, of our actions and of where we still currently are. Always, remembering and acknowledging however, that you are already healthy and whole.

Feel Good and Believe!

Intention, and Conscious Choice

Every choice I make i face a consequence, so imagine what I can do with conscious choice. www.goldilocksblog.com

As I enter my third week of conscious eating, inspired by my 21 year old stepdaughter, I had an epiphany. It’s what we all really know,… but somehow this week it hit me deeply, and really resonated with me. My intention is for this message is that I hope that it helps you too!

With every choice no matter how big or small we face a consequence for that action. But, If we couple that choice, with our most important choice of what our intention is, then the choices and decisions become much easier. With my intention of being healthy, the conscious choice to pick whole natural foods, and to continue with my practice of yoga, is easy. Why would I want to choose to consume anything other then whats healthy for my body, when my intention is to be healthy. The intention of living a happy life, will keep only happy, positive healthy people around you. If you apply this to your relationships, your job, or your life as a whole, changes will become easier.  You begin living, the life that you want to live.
