Fairy tales – Real or Rumor?

“‘Know thy self’ may not be the best; A pinch of self-delusion it turns out is an important ingredient in the happiness recipe.” – Eric Weiner  quote via twitter@bmccall17

Once upon a time a friend of mine posted on her facebook page, “Fairy tales don’t exist…reality does…”  Which of course prompted me (Goldilocks) to post; “I believe”.  And yes, I have wondered if I’ve become a little delusional… I did do some deep soul searching, and I have been looking for, finding, and then spewing positive “self help” information and ideas, all of which has made me happier, and I hope, has helped you too!  However, I think the key ingredient for me, was to put myself in a reality that was different from the one that I was living… so call me delusional in my fairy tale world, I don’t care, because – it works – I’m happy.

Wishing that you create your own happy fairy tale reality, where nothing is too good to come true.

Creating my perfect life in a perfect world…

Finding Happiness In Every Situation

Today TOMS shoes is asking people to go one day without shoes to spread the awareness of the impact of a pair of shoes on a persons life.  For those of you who don’t know, TOMS donates one pair of shoes for every pair purchased to children in need around the world.  (Thank you TOMS for what you do!)

I was on my Twitter account when the following question came from TOMS

TOMSshoes Tell us how your barefoot day is going! What have u realized is #hardwithoutshoes?

My response was instant

GoldilocksBlog @TOMSshoes My feet are cold…

I caught myself instantly, which inspired this blog. My response should have been – My feet are cold…, but I’m grateful for the many shoes in my closet.

Our ultimate goal in living our perfect lives is to be happy. So shouldn’t we look for happiness in every situation.  Don’t we usually find what we are looking for?

Creating my “just right” perfect life…

The moment that we are in…

Today I started working out. Part of my perfect life is having a healthy body. I also, embarrassingly, would like to look a little better, and get rid of some of these soft spots that have developed.  I’m not really over weight for most of America.  I am, however, about 20 lbs overweight, if you are in New York, Miami, or LA.  My main goal is to maintain my health, and fortunately I have always been very blessed in this area of my life, but last week – my brother had a heart attack!  I think I am still in shock. He is too young. I never expected to get that call.  He is doing okay, and I’m putting it out there right now, that I am expecting a full recovery!

I feel like I am on the right path of working towards my perfect life, and everything that I want in it.  I have moments however when I start to revert back to my old way of thinking.  The phone call from my brother was a hard reminder that we are only guaranteed the moment that we are in.  So we should be doing something that we love, or we should be with someone that we love, or a function serving a purpose that will help us or someone we love. Why waste any moments on anything other than joy, love, happiness, and hope. Connect only with good people and good thoughts.

Lets not waste any time – it is too precious!  What is your next step toward creating your perfect life?

Love, Goldi
