Counterpose For a Balanced Life

We bend so that we don’t break.  In yoga we do counterposes to balance out our bodies. If we twist to the right, we twist to the left. If we bend forward, we counter with bending backward.  Most of us live busy lifestyles, we give to our work, our bosses, employees, or customers. At home we give to our families, parents, children, spouses, siblings, and friends. Some of us also try to remain happy and positive, by exuding joyfulness to the strangers we meet along the way. We bend so far one way however, we sometimes forget our most important self.

So remember to do your counterposes, bend the other way by taking care of you! Give to yourself so that you can continue to give to others. Fill yourself up with joy, and gratitude for all that you have. Feed your mind by reading, seeing, and feeling happy thoughts; and in your body by exercising and eating right. Stay completely healthy for yourself first, and for those around you.  It’s the most unselfish thing you can do – taking care of you.

Love in Your World

Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year. – Ralph W Emerson

You’re happiness in life is your creation – it’s what you perceive your reality to be.  You have the power to create and perceive the life that you want.  If you want a miserable life, you can have it. Turn on the news, look for mean people, associate with those who are negative, and be negative yourself. The possibilities are endless to find sadness, but why?  Why choose to live in that world, and in that reality.

Choose instead to live in a world where every morning when you wake up, you know it’s going to be a great day!  That somehow, all things, are working in your favor. You live looking for the good in others. It’s out there – you see it. You see the LOVE in people; objects; in jobs well done; in crafts made with care; in flowers; animals, and in the sun, wind and rain! Love is everywhere! YOU are also the LOVE, and you feel it in every bone in your body, and in every breath you take. Happiness and peace is there, the joy follows, and the beauty is easy to see.

Move for Motivation

We make the world we live in and shape our own environment. Marden

Some say poverty is the greatest motivator, but what do we do when we have food to eat, but are just lacking motivation. We want to be successful, we want to get the job done, but we simply feel immobile and unmotivated for whatever reason. The answer I guess really depends on the individual. Some of us may truly need rest, before moving on. Some may just need a reminder of the bigger picture of what’s to come without getting the job done. Like staying exactly where you are, or possibly falling behind.

Our lives are meant to be lived. We do shape our environment. We do create our own world. What we do today, directly can improve all our days to come. So get up, start moving, start researching or doing something that’s some part of the task at hand, to get you going.  Find something that you like about the task, something interesting – moving.
