A Mini Vacation From Stress – Yoga on the Mat!

I first came into Yoga as a way to bring myself, a few moments of peace. Becoming centered, grounded, and present, focusing on my breath, focusing on my body. Then breathing some more, moving, linking my breath with movement, bringing my mind and body totally into the present. Then with the awareness of the moment I was in, and lack of the awareness of everything else,  I was able to bring myself to a place of stillness in my mind and body.  I was able to sit with peace, and then focus my thoughts on all that I had to be grateful for.  Mini Vacations is what it felt like. A retreat just for myself. Filling my day with positive thoughts all day long.  With yoga practice we find these moments.

Live with Peace.

Just a thought,

Enjoying the Moments

Real generosity toward the future lies in giving all to the present. – Albert Camus

How easy is it to take for granted some of life’s most simple pleasures.  Focusing our attention on our list of things that need to be done.  Sometimes we’re so focused on what we feel we need to do, we forget to look up to see, the opportunity for a conversation with our child, an unexpected lunch with our spouse, or the chance to visit with a friend.

What will be most important to us in the future, will be to have the people we love, to be around us.  Money, fame, and the like will be nothing, if you have no one to share it with.

Lets find a way to enjoy all moments, finding joy in what we do.  This is life, this is our life, let’s choose to live it well.

Busy enjoying the moments…

Happy Thoughts All Day Long

So the last few days I’ve been challenged, affected in a way that my mind couldn’t perceive, but was felt by my body.  As I sat here today writing literally for four hours I was unable to come up with anything to post.  My husband called, still at work and on his 13 plus hours there, not surprisingly – he sounded tired.  He called to say that he had another good hour or so to go, and I not wanting to delay him any longer,  hesitantly said…, I’ve been having trouble writing my blog today.  Do you have any words of wisdom?  He said, hmmm lets see, I’ve been having Happy Thoughts All Day Long, what were they… I hope that helps. I said yes, yes it did!  I instantly became clear that IS what I wanted to write about.   Not so much about the happy thoughts, even though you know that I believe in them. I became clear from his focus, and positive presence, felt even from a distance.  He took the time to answer my question happily, and when he said the words Happy Thoughts All Day Long his voice changed and he sounded better himself. I perked up hearing him perk up.

So remembering now, that helping ourselves also means reaching out once in a while, and asking for help. Combined with the knowledge that we need to continue to surrounding ourselves with good people, and place ourselves in a good environments. It will continue to help us long after we’ve forgotten…

Wishing you today, tonight, this weekend, and really forever…the total encompassing of good people and places and Lot’s of Happy Thoughts!
