A Wabi-Sabi Way of Life

Describing wabi sabi is complex.  As I believe, it’s something felt by all of your senses, and not what you think with your rationalized intellectual mind. It’s a heart felt intuitive intelligence. In art, objects, and life, it’s where everything, in its beautiful randomness shows us true beauty with its flaws and imperfections, not despite them. Where we are more in harmony with nature, versus trying to controlling it. Where art and objects are organic and natural, versus man made with shiny polished surfaces. Where you feel the warmth, and see the beauty, in everything that has endured the test of time. Where knowing that life is full of meaning, but its not perfect or permanent. Where a sense of freedom is felt by not getting caught up in worldly values, but instead enjoying tranquility in our world by living simpler, slowing down, and letting things develop in there own way.

Go confidently towards the life of your dreams – just be true to yourself, be real,…fully live, and appreciate each day.

Having Difficulties – Dream Big

Make your dreams bigger than your difficulties…move through, move past, move beyond.  Don’t let your thoughts get stuck on the problems. Remember where you want to go, and what you’re going to do once you get there.

Because this is it…you are creating your future now.  So make that dream of yours big, and begin to think of any difficulties as the catalyst that will always push you towards your greatest growth.

Be Happy

Be happy now.  Where you are, who you are, and whatever your doing right now – be happy!  Don’t wait until tomorrow.  Don’t wait until your vacation. Don’t wait until you lose weight, or get that job, or that date, or any condition that you’re holding out for…

Happiness will not be found in the highest price house, car, or diamond.  They are just things – that at the end of the day, don’t really mean anything. Someday they could be destroyed, lost, or have outlived their usefulness; but our attitude will always be carried with us. Not to say that you shouldn’t have those “things” if that is what you desire, but that it’s not what will bring you a sustained life of happiness.

Your choice in how you perceive where you are, who you are, and whatever your doing right now, and has a greater affect on how your day, or week goes, than anything that you’re waiting for. It’s conceivable to say that our greatest riches, come from how we choose to perceive every moment that were living.

Don’t delay your happiness. Simply,… be happy now.
