Can Being Pretentious Be Good?

No one likes to hear a cocky self assured, pretentious person boasting of his abilities, that you doubt are possible. But what is equally disturbing is hearing someone being beyond modest to the point of being self deprecating, where you see he has all the abilities, but yet doesn’t believe in himself enough to use them. So as in most cases the answer is not with either extreme. Hiding behind the face of being modest, or being afraid to let ourselves shine, shortchange ourselves.

We must go beyond our humility even it seems as if we are being a little pretentious. We must be assured, and confidant, and positive. WE must declare and believe in ourselves and our abilities. As Henry Ford once said There is no man living that can not do more than he thinks he can.

Todays mantra should be something like this…

I am blessed and I will continue to live a good, happy, healthy life.  It will be blessed beyond what I can even imagine, and good things will continue to happen for my benefit, and the benefit of my family. I will let myself shine!

Life

Life is interesting.  Even when we know better, we sometimes feel ourselves slipping into thoughts of fear, or regret, or worry.  We know that nothing lasts forever, and that we’ll have a continuum of highs and lows throughout our life.  Sometimes the struggles last way to long, where we don’t know if we can remaining strong, at other times life is so good to us, that we start to worry what’s to come. The worry, fear, and regret, however only holds us back from living our life today, and keeps the reel of whats bothering us, replaying in our head. Instead of all of the good we have in our life now, and all the good that’s to come.

Stay focused on the positive.  Keep expecting the best.
