Life Lessons From Improv

Have you ever watched “Improv”, where actors/comedians on stage are given a situation, and they have to make do with what’s at hand. They ad-lib the conversation, and use objects around them to invent or fabricate items which support what they are trying to create. We sit in awe at there ability to make the situation work, and usually say to ourselves something like, “I could never do that”.  When in reality, thats exactly what life is like.

Sometimes life events can stop us in our tracts, but like the Improv Entertainers, we need to look for what we have, and start our work there. We can continue to create our own story, always moving forward, improvising if we have to, toward the life that we want.

And, to keep us pumped up, at the end of each scene – Always Remember, to walk off the stage with a smile. 🙂 Have Fun! Love your Life!

A Good Beginning

A good beginning is one that is altered by the end, and with the ending of 2010, another yearly cycle has begun. We have lost the ability to direct or change the ending, to our year in 2010, but we have the great opportunity to begin this year in a way that makes us proud of the ending we create for 2011.

Imagine what your life looks like a year from now?  What do you look like? Where are you? What are you doing? How do you feel? Now imagine living this life everyday, being joyful, happy, fulfilled, and at peace. Feel the gratitude of truly living your life. Imagine looking around you each and everyday, and being grateful for all you have. You see only the possibilities and the opportunities around, because you know what you want, you know where you want to go, and you know what you need to do to get there. Allow yourself to be and have everything you want. You deserve it.

Self Mastery of Mind

Henley – Invictus

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Your mind creates the world you live in. Accept people and situations for what they are – just people, and just situations, that are coming from many other actions and reactions.  Step out of the drama. Control your emotions. Control your thoughts. Control your mind. You don’t have to react to aggression with aggression.   You don’t have to mirror or agree with the thoughts coming at you. You don’t have to agree with the opinion of others. You can accomplish what you want to achieve. You must stay stead fast in your own mind with the purpose of the life you want. Look toward that ultimate life. Remember what you want; a life of true happiness (add your own details here) . Purposely direct or change your thoughts and actions. Choose how to respond; react… and live with honor, and the purpose of becoming the better you.

May you always find yourself unafraid, mastering your fate, and captaining your soul.
