Self Made Self Made

I saw a t-shirt today that said “Self Made”, …I thought, aren’t we all self made.  Are we not a composite of all the choices that we make.  Whether it’s what we ate, if we exercised, what school did we choose to go to, or if we choose to go at all. What town to live in, where to work, who to date, and who to remaining friends with, etc etc.  We are the sum of every decision.  We can choose to change our direction at any time, we can self make ourselves into something new.  We don’t have to stay where we are unless we love it, or parts of it anyway. We can stay and work on the parts that we don’t love so much.  Being happy comes from within, and luckily, we have the ability to change and adapt.  It is never over, or too late, as long as you have breath. 

Remember you’re self made…how are you doing?

What are we, after all, but individuals continually adapting transforming and growing with new interest, marriages, jobs lost or begun.  As a society however, it seems to many as if we have reached an end of the world as we know it type scenario. All but forgetting that we have the ability to create, and redesign our lives, as we see fit. The change we wish to see in the world, must start with ourselves. We are the collaborators. 

Be mindful of your actions, while having faith that we’re on the path of the butterfly, and that our transformation will be just as beautiful.
