The Peace Within – Mental Aerobics

The moments of our lives should be filled with joy, love, peace, and serenity. There are times in my life when this doesn’t come easy, and I have to start doing a little mental aerobics…exercising my mind, to listen within.  Recognizing that events can take you away from positive feelings, it’s important to realize when getting away from a peaceful state, and to learn how to get back to the peace within.

Mentally I have to tell myself to physically stop, get still, and get centered. I calm myself by breathing deeper and slower, and then make a serious effort to change my thoughts. I do this by looking around for something positive to focus on. Like a laughing child, a flower, or a tree blowing in the breeze. One last deep breath, and I’m back to a state of calm and peace. It can take a moment or a few minutes, but when I do it right, I noticed everything around me, seems to stop and do the same. As if before, everything was on auto pilot and this one action seems to wake everything up, so that we can live with joy, love, and peace within. Life is too short to live any other way.

Love Yourself

When was the last time you sat still, to breathe, to relax, and to listen within. Believing and trusting in your own voice. When was the last time you told yourself your beautiful, smart, extraordinary, in factperfect exactly as you are.

You take time to be kind to others, now it’s time to be kind to yourself. Give yourself all of the love, and nurturing you need, to be the very best you.

The Flow of Life

Several times in my life I’ve worked really hard to make things happen with little or no success. It wasn’t until I let go of the out come, that what I had been working so hard to create, came flowing into my life.  The first few times this happened, my letting go of the outcome, was a little like giving up. That was the beginning of my lesson. I’ve since learned, not to give up, but to surrender to the flow of life.  Believing that every experience is part of our process to becoming the people we are meant to be. If a particular route is not working out, I relax, knowing that a better route will come around. When I’ve relaxed and surrendered to the flow, I reach the place I want to go sooner, and in a peaceful way.  I stay focused on what I’m grateful for in my life, and I smile knowing that my experiences are all working for my benefit.
