Life, Love, the World, and Change!

Since I am searching for the perfect life in a perfect world… I have been giving this a lot of thought. To make our lives better and then the ultimate to have a perfect world, we need to start small, start from the beginning, and start with ourselves.   We need to realize that what we do, say, think, and act on does have an impact on this world.  As with everything in life, a rippling effect occurs.  For instance something as small as smiling when you come in contact with someone can have such a positive influence with that person, which makes them smile at the next person, and so on and so on.   Or what about taking care of yourself where you are eating right and exercising.   Then you have the energy to do so many other things, and it frees family members or others from having to take care of you, so now they have the time and energy to do more positive things.

Love yourself!  Be kind to yourself!  Then be better!  Make a conscious decision to make choices in everything that you do that will help make this world a better place.  I know that this may seem overwhelming, but if we just try everyday to be a little better from whatever place we are at right now, we can help make a perfect world!

Tough Economy – Time Bank – Help Create A Better Community!

I believe that this tough economy is creating opportunities to change for the better!  Earlier I talked about being downsized and how that change might inspire you to start living the life you want, but it is also a chance for us as a whole, to help change our community and our whole way of life.

I believe that we all want to have peace, love, friends, and family in our lives. What if we shifted our perspective and wanted less.  Simplified – We would not need to work two jobs, we would have time for our family and friends and ourselves.  Which would create more joy in the world, and then we would all live healthier, longer, and happier lives.

I thought about what if we took this a step further and we created real communities where everyone really cared about the betterment of all.  I then stumbled upon www.timebanks.org  .  Now I have to say that I know nothing about this organization… I just looked at the site and I loved the concept of what they are doing.  The concept is that everyone has something to contribute and everyone usually has a need as well. So you may contribute your time doing something for someone and that hour will go into a time bank, and then you would have a time dollar for someone to do something for you.

Time Banks Mission:”Strengthening Communities through reciprocity”  Sounds like a good idea to me!

Gift – Opportunity?

So many times we do not see the gift or the potential opportunity.  I read or heard of a test done once where two subjects were sent into a coffee shop, everything was staged the same, and all the other patrons were actors playing a specific role.  When asked about the experience the first subject said that nothing notable had happened.  When the second subject was asked they said that it was a great experience, that right when they walked in they found a five dollar bill, then he sat next to a man at the counter who was really interesting and possibly had some contacts that could help him in business.  Opportunities missed by the first subject…possibly?

A friend of mine was complaining about some tenants of hers.  How she had given them a chance and they had blown it, as she was talking  I starting thinking about opportunities that I felt that she had blown, and then about opportunities that I had blown as well.  In hindsight we always question ourselves, that is if we notice the missed opportunities, but sometimes we choose to not follow that opportunity path. May be because it does not feel right to us or it is not the direction that we want to take.  So then is it really an opportunity or just a different direction?
