This morning I woke up to the sound of rain. A perfect gentle summer rain and it sounded sweeter than normal, because the flowers and vegetables in my garden were desperately in need of a drink. By the time I got out of bed and headed downstairs the sun was trying to shine through, and by the time my coffee was made and my cup was poured, the sun was shining brightly. As I gazed out the window, cup in hand, the trees and flowers seemed so fresh and new, and for the first time it really felt like it was truly the beginning of a brand new day! It was as if God made it just for me… it was exactly what I needed, rain and the sun, to grow and inspire my garden and myself.
Hope you have a beautiful day!
Love, Goldi

Searching for the perfect life in a perfect world…
What about sunrise?
What about rain?
What about all the things,
That you said we were to gain?
What about killing fields?
Is there a time?
What about all the things,
That you said was yours and mine?
Did you ever stop to notice,
All the blood we’ve shed before?
Did you ever stop to notice,
The crying Earth the weeping shores?
What have we done to the world?
Look what we’ve done.
What about all the peace,
That you pledge your only son?
What about flowering fields?
Is there a time?
What about all the dreams,
That you said was yours and mine?
Did you ever stop to notice,
All the children dead from war?
Did you ever stop to notice,
The crying Earth the weeping shores.
I used to dream.
I used to glance beyond the stars.
Now I don’t know where we are.
Although I know we’ve drifted far.
Hey-yea!
What about yesterday?
What about the seas?
The heavens are falling down.
I can’t even breathe!
What about apathy?
I can feel its wounds.
What about nature’s worth?
It’s our planet’s womb!
What about animals?
We’ve turned kingdoms to dust,
What about elephants?
Have we lost their trust?
What about crying whales?
Ravaging the seas.
What about forest trails?
Burnt despite our pleas!
What about the holy land?
Torn apart by creed.
What about the common man?
Can’t we set him free?
What about children dying?
Can’t you hear them cry?
Where did we go wrong?
Someone tell me why!
What about baby boy?
What about the days?
What about all their joy?
What about the man?
What about the crying man?
What about Abraham?
What about death again?
Do we give a damn?!
It has been said that Michael Jackson wrote this song because he felt the earth was crying and that he could feel its pain…
Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett passed away today and thoughts of them brought back memories of my childhood. Back in the day, my grandmother worked at the Americana Hotel on Miami Beach, and one day and she brought me back Michael Jacksons autograph on the back of one of the paper placemats, along with some of his siblings signatures. I was so excited about getting the autograph that I still have it till this day! …and Farrah Fawcett, I had to have the Farrah hair!
The memories of my childhood are good… but it is also a big wake up call and reminder to live today, and to not wait until tomorrow!
