Why are we afraid of failure, and why don’t we think of failure as positive? Didn’t Thomas Edison say “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” Isn’t failure our greatest teacher, so shouldn’t it be celebrated? Shouldn’t we celebrate people who have tried and failed, encouraging them to keep going; encouraging them to try a different angle, to look for a different solution, or to completely regroup and to go down a different path, but always…, to keep going!

So let’s look at failure as Thomas Edison does and not be afraid to try something, or get down because something didn’t work – lets celebrate, and look at it as a gift. A gift – of what not to do, and see it as bringing us one step closer to living our perfect lives.

As for me, I am going to consider myself a huge success, because I know a million things - not to do

Aristotle says that without desire the world would die of inertia. Eastern Religions believe that our perfect peace comes from wanting nothing, and I believe, in my Golidlocks way, both to be true. As I see it, when we acquire more things, or reach our goals, or find our love, our desires tend to rise at the same time. We seem to always stay at the same level, of wanting more. We have the house and now want the perfect furniture. We have a love, and now we want more time an attention. We have our dream job and now want more recognition. Then when a tragedy strikes like the loss of a job, or loss of property, or loss of a loved one, we plummet emotionally wondering if we will ever rise back up. We work so hard to have more and more, and then we think, if I just didn’t want anything. If I hardened myself to not want the love, or the house – I wouldn’t hurt. So we self protect ourselves into not fully living.

I think our perfect lives come from not only having and reaching for our desires, but to fully appreciate and be content with what we have today. To be content with the journey – the ups and the downs. And, that is the peace of wanting nothing – contentment with what you have right now.

This morning I wrote on my Twitter account; “today is going to be a great day!” I have been feeling like that a lot lately…, that somehow everything is going to be okay – better than okay! I feel joyful, and I have a sense of peace and calm about me. I am happy that I am creating my life, and I love what I am doing!

I realized that my circumstances should not control me. That I control me, and I am happier and healthier because of it. I stated that today is going to be a great day, and, it is. I woke up early and saw my beautiful daughter, went to “walk and talk” with a friend, started writing, and now – I just won a smoothie from Earth Fare! They are all just simple little things, but they all have brought me joy!

Earth Fare is our local Healthy Supermarket here in, Asheville NC, that has expanded into four states, and now has 17 stores and counting. (Yea – more jobs!) When you walk into an Earth Fare you feel the difference compared to other supermarkets, and you see the difference in their products, in their employees, and in their decor. It’s a sense of quality, cleanliness, and comfort. A place where you might want to hang out at, and actually can. I am new to Twitter and Facebook for that matter, but when Earth Fare posted on the their Twitter account that the next person to respond to them would win a free smoothie, I thought for a split second, “that’s silly”, “I will never win”, “I don’t want to look goofy trying for something and failing”, and, it’s just a smoothie. Then I thought – no this is just fun, and I tweeted back, and won! Imagine what we do with our larger decisions… and look at the good it has done! It has brought me joy, Goldilocks Blog was posted on their Twitter Page and Earth Fare gets a blog post inspired by them. Just by giving me a smoothie, and they are getting back at least double their investment, since this post will forever be out here in cyber world:)

So in my very unusually long and round about way…,my thought for today is this – may be the answer to one of life’s questions is, to just do things in a certain way. To claim the way you want your life. Fun, Happy, with Quality, Cleanliness and Comfort.

My earliest memories of St Patrick’s Day is littered with memories of boys and girls running around saying-“you better be wearing green, or you’re going to be pinched.” I think this was one of my first introductions to flirting. They’re were more conversations, and interactions than usual, as the boys chased and the girls screamed.

Today, and years later, I am still running around. This time, in my mind, about a man. It has nothing to do with wether I am wearing green or not, but about a conversation I had with an old love. What do you do with a man who is all wrong for you, and all right for you at the same time? A relationship where your passion and ideals, fit so perfectly, that it’s beyond compare to any experience that you have had before. So perfect – that it’s like a real life fairy-tale, where in your perfect Goldilocks life, this is the feeling, an experience, that you want to have with you always.

It’s hard because the good is so good, that it makes it hard to turn away from or to understand. The reality is that we don’t have to understand it or turn away from it. We just need to accept and enjoy how it is at this moment, and keep focusing on what we want. If it fits, as we are pursuing the life that we want, it will stick. If not, it will fall away. We can only control ourselves. We need to keep out minds eye on the life that we want; reevaluating, adapting, and continuously moving along the way.

Just a thought…

May your day be touched by a bit of Irish luck!

Love, Goldi

This Blog is inspired by Gary V who posted a video blog about the importance of larger companies saying “thank you” to it’s consumers. And, it hit me that I recently celebrated my first anniversary of blogging, and I forgot to say – thank you! I feel grateful with every post that I write that I have the opportunity to do so, and I feel grateful with every new reader that I receive, but apparently after looking back – I have forgotten to voice it. How often do we assume that people know how grateful we are?

So – thank you for reading! Thank you for following! Thank you for sharing with your friends! It is all Greatly Appreciated!

May be we all could share a little more love and gratitude!

Today is my first anniversary of blogging. To commemorate the event, this morning, I created a fan page on facebook. As of this writing I have no fans…lol! Hopefully I will have more.
I started blogging for myself, as a way to remind me of positive thoughts and things that I wanted to remember. Positive and beautiful people and places that I want to see. And, as time goes, my thoughts are changing a little on where I want to go, but my goals are still the same. I still want to write, blog, travel, see the world, and help you along the way.

Hoping that we find our perfect lives in a perfect world…

Just a thought…

In every attempt of love, and success at any endeavor, we learn. We become closer to what it is that we want. Always remind yourself that this attempt has brought you closer to your goal. Weeding out what not to do. Always consider your attempts a success for this very reason. Never give up on your dream. Readjust, reevaluate, leave yourself open, and try again.

Not trying, may feel like we are protecting ourselves, and by protecting ourselves we may feel like we have won that battle. The truth is however, that we end up losing the war - of never having a totally fulfilling life.

So remember – what may seem like a failure, is really a stepping stone, bringing you closer to your perfect life.
